Aqwise signs a major Turn-Key wastewater treatment project in Northern Mexico

Mexico City, Mexico, 28 November 2013Aqwise, a leading provider of advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions, will provide a Turn-Key wastewater treatment project in Durango, Mexico.

The signing takes place during the Presidential visit of Mr. Shimon Peres, The President of the State of Israel, to Mexico. Aqwise is participating in the Israeli business delegation accompanying the visit, meeting with high-level officials and corporations from Mexico.

The wastewater treatment facility will utilize Aqwise unique AGAR® technology – a highly cost-effective and innovative biological process, implemented throughout the world in over 30 countries. The plant will treat 3,500 m3/day (40 lps) of sanitary wastewater, which will be reused for coal production by one of the largest coal producers in Mexico. By using treated water instead of fresh water, the solution provides the region and the client with an environmental-friendly approach, as well as significant cost savings.

The project is estimated at approximately US$3 million with a possibility to increase the reuse capacity in the near future.

Elad Frenkel, Aqwise CEO, commented: “This is surely a significant project for Aqwise, further deepening our activity in this great country, where we have implemented our technology in numerous plants. We are delighted to be able to sign this agreement during the Presidential visit, and hope that the relations between the countries, Israel and Mexico, will continue to strengthen – both culturally and economically.”
