Aqwise to treat paper wastewater effluent with DAF-MBBR technology

Herzliya, Israel, July 1st 2010 Aqwise, provider of advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions, will design and commission a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 1,000 m3/d to treat effluents from a Tissue paper mill in Portugal. The wastewater treatment plant, treating AMS Goma Camps paper mill and converting, consists of a DAF-MBBR (Moving Bed Bioreactor) system which is based on Aqwise’s AGAR® (Attached Growth Airlift Reactor) technology.

The AGAR® technology, a result of more than a decade of intensive multidisciplinary research and development, integrates Fixed Film and Suspended Growth technologies. It combines a unique fully open and fully protected biomass carrier with a highly efficient aeration and mixing design.
