Aqwise – EMEA’s Fastest Growing Cleantech Company

Aqwise was ranked 1st in the cleantech sector at the “Deloitte Technology Fast 500” For the EMEA region

Herzliya, Israel, November 25, 2009 – Aqwise, provider of advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions, was ranked 1st in the cleantech sector and 28th among the 500 competitors at the 2009 “Deloitte Technology Fast 500” competition for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Aqwise’s solutions increase BOD and nutrient removal capacity in wastewater treatment plants, offering enhanced utilization of existing reactors and unique efficiencies in the implementation of new ones.

The competition, which ranks the fastest growing public and private technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and green technology companies from 26 countries in EMEA, is based on the companies’ 5-year revenue growth. It is considered as one of the leading ranking programs in the world.

This high ranking in the competition follows Aqwise winning the first place at the Deloitte Fast 50 competition for 2009, ranking the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Israel. It was the first time for a cleantech company to win the competition globally.

Those recent achievements come alongside with the company’s international expansion into new markets in Asia and South and Central America, as well as its continued efforts in developing new technological solutions for the global water and wastewater industry.

Elad Frenkel, CEO of Aqwise: “We are proud to be one of the top 30 companies in EMEA – and moreover to be ranked first at the cleantech category. It is a great honor.
I am sure we are bound to see many more cleantech companies on these lists in the near future. Last year’s challenge was to continue to grow in a volatile business environment, without compromising on continued research and deveopment of new technologies. Dealing with a significnat slowdown in the major global markets required finding alternative growth markets and innovative business models.”
