Oil rigs, in many ways similar to small crowded islands, produce considerable amounts of sanitary wastewater – which require treatment before discharge to the sea. Oil rigs feature unique challenges, such as small footprint and confined areas for the treatment units, high TDS levels, daily deviation in flows and loads and occasional shutdowns.
Nowadays, Aqwise is providing its Micro Prefabricated Units (AGAR® MPU) to 60 oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. Following the current sustainability goals, black and grey water are treated separately by two dedicated AGAR® MPU systems utilizing AGAR® MBBR and AGAR® Media Clarifier (AGAR® MC) processes. Both units achieve the stringent discharge standards required for oil rigs, while presenting minimal environmental footprint with low capital & operational costs.
