WWTP retrofit project in Slovakia !!
The European wastewater directives enforce municipalities throughout Europe to apply solutions to increase the capacity and nutrient removal efficiency of existing WWTPs. Recently, VVS – the e water company of the City of Kosice, Slovakia, announced the renovation of the municipal WWTP of Roznava, implementing Aqwise AGAR® IFAS technology. The project will include the retrofit of the existing 30 year old, activated sludge treatment lines to Aqwise’s AGAR®IFAS (Integrated Fixed-film Activated Sludge).
Aqwise was selected thanks to its proven ability to retrofit existing biological reactors at minimum cost, in short time of execution, and with no need to build additional new reactors.
The renovated WWTP at Roznava will treat approximately 8,000 m3/day of domestic sewage, and will comply with recently imposed effluent discharge limits, including nitrogen and phosphorus removal.
The project is another testimony of the numerous advantages of the AGAR® IFAS technology for enhancement of WWTP treatment capacity and nutrient removal efficiency.
